From: Mike Katz Date: 8/3/2024 23:55 Subject: Trade HP Rack for DEC Rack ------- For trade: one model A1884A server rack similar to the one seen here at the HP Museum site. This one lacks the HP Systems banner and the integrated power switch. Photos of the actual rack are here. Measurements are: 23 11/16" W 33 5/16" D 64" H 28.125" deep mount (front mount holes to rear mount holes) I'm looking to trade for a DEC H960 compatible 25" deep mount (front holes to rear holes) rack, as older DEC rails will not fit in between the HP rack's vertical mounting rails. I would prefer to have the rack picked up from my home in Glen Ellyn, IL but can deliver to VCF Midwest if we can make arrangements.

From: Curt Shehow Date: 8/23/2024 13:52 Subject: Wanted: Working Travan-3 Tape Drive ------- I am looking for a verified working Travan-3 drive tape drive in particular an Exabyte Eagle TR-3 but will consider others. The main thing is that the rubber on the capstan in the drive not be all gooey which is a common problem with these older tape drives. I have a dozen or so tapes I want to retrieve the data from before it's too late, if possible. I also have some QIC-80 tapes so would consider a drive that reads those if a TR-3 can't be located.

From: Dylan Blair Date: 9/3/2024 20:12 Subject: FS/T: Dell Latitude C400 ------- I will be selling a Dell Latitude C400. I will also be considering trades, though I am not currently in search of anything particular. View photos here. If I recall, it has an Intel Pentium M CPU. I believe it is a tad too new for Windows 98 to understand. It is running Windows 98 SE, as I have mentioned, though it has Windows XP branding and a Windows 2000 product key on the bottom. It also comes with multiple Windows 98 games, as well as some software. See photos for the list of games. It has 512 MB of RAM, DDR1 I'm pretty sure. It has 256 MB integrated, and a 256 MB SODIMM. It also has a 40 GB hard drive that is in good health. The battery DOES NOT hold a charge, and neither does the CMOS battery. I do have a replacement (that should hopefully be compatible) that I never got around to replacing, and will be included with the laptop and its power supply. See photos. This laptop does NOT have a CD Drive, nor does it have a floppy drive. Though it has USB, it is USB 1.1 speeds at best, and will be difficult to upgrade the OS. USB booting is unsupported, as far as I have tried. I will be attending on SATURDAY THE 7TH. Not Sunday the 8th. Chances are I will be leaving shortly after the YouTubers panel. Feel free to send me an offer. I will be considering trades, and will update if I am in search of anything. I did buy this laptop at VCF last year for at least $20USD, so please take that into consideration. I say "at least" because I can't actually remember how much I paid for this. Feel free to ask questions about the laptop as well, and I will do my best to answer them. Just use common sense. This system will not fare well with the modern internet, and will especially not run modern programs.
